The first task will develop a statistical summary of the compounds measured during the Houston Triangle Study. We will identify outliers and ‘high values and provide a simple back trajectory analysis for these high values. Hydrocarbon concentration measured from different collocated instruments will be compared to provide a rough quality assurance check of the observations. The analysis of VOC data from the Aldine site is contingent upon having access to those observations made by Texas A&M University during the campaign.
The second task will identify key source regions of the VOCs measured by the PTR-MS at the Triangle sites (with the above caveat about accessibility of observations from the Aldine site). This work will be based on wind speed and direction information as well as the calculation of back trajectories, the use of Conditional Probability Function (CPF) and the Potential Source Contribution Function (PSCF). Maps suggesting the origin and/or possible transport path ways of high concentrations of compounds from source to receptors will be provided.
The third task will examine the consistency of the latest TCEQ Emission inventory with measurements made during the Triangle Campaign (with the above caveat about accessibility of observations from the Aldine site) using ambient ratio analysis for selected species (e.g., benzene or formaldehyde).
