ENVIRON is performing modeling under HARC project H35.2004 to firmly pinpoint the states that significantly contribute to ozone transport into Eastern Texas. Preliminary information indicates that sources in Louisiana and Arkansas have the most immediate potential impacts on Eastern Texas; however the selection of states to be used for this project will be based on the results from H35. ENVIRON will gather data on emissions, major point sources of NOx, control methods and applicable regulations in the “targeted states”. The results of this study will be a comparison of the emission levels, controls and control strategies in Texas and the states that may impact Texas as indicated by H35. This project will also produce a cost comparison of appropriate control strategies in Texas and the targeted states based on regulations and literature that is publicly available.
